A widely recognized executive coach, speaker and author, Eddie coaches leaders to modify entrenched leadership habits and expand their influence skills. In his 20+ years as an executive coach Eddie has consulted with over 100 CEOs and Fortune 500 division presidents and over 300 senior executives and their teams. He has worked globally with executives across Europe, Asia and South America. He has worked globally with executives across Europe, Asia and South America.
Eddie shows executives the impact of their leadership on their business performance, which motivates CEO’s and their teams to expand innovation, executive alignment, team effectiveness and Board communications. He uses in-depth assessments and a one-year coaching process to break through tendencies to rationalize problems and adhere too long to the status quo.
He also works closely with executives and their teams to clarify roles, build alignment around key change management and innovation initiatives, and overall improve team effectiveness and accountability.
He has co-authored two books with Kate Ludeman: Alpha Male Syndrome and Radical Change, Radical Results. His consulting and books have been discussed in such publications as Business Week, Financial Times, Best Life, New York Times, LA Times, London Times, etc.
Previously Eddie was Chief of Staff at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, where he was a vascular surgeon and co-founder of a wellness and executive effectiveness program. With his experience in medicine and leadership coaching, Eddie has developed a unique body of knowledge about how the executive brain works and which tools are most effective in expanding leadership skills.
After obtaining his BA and MD degrees from the University of Michigan, he completed his Surgical Residency at the University of Michigan Medical Center. He remained on the faculty at the University of Michigan until 2000, serving as Assistant Dean of Student Affairs, Director of Undergraduate Surgical Education and Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery.
Leaders know they must challenge the current state of affairs to ensure they don’t get too wrapped up in their own success. You cannot have an intellectual meritocracy with open debate unless your leaders are open-minded and can accept being disagreed with publicly or corrected when they’ve got the facts wrong.
